Another Successful Year for Representative Farnsworth

= More Pain for Arizonans

Just when Arizonans thought that contract law, legal agreements and the basic Judeo/Christian principles of character and integrity were safely ensconsed in a veto-proof super-majority Republican caucus, the haunting memories of 2007-2008 come crashing back on the political scene. In the old days, Rep. Farnsworth helped demolish the solidarity of the thirty-three member Republican Caucus and caused untold damage to the people he was elected to represent.

Now, less than a fortnight into the first session of the Fiftieth Arizona Legislature, he has managed to become the sinkhole in the road to correcting the outlandish actions of the Tohono O'odham Tribe that violate the 2003 Arizona Gaming Compact - passed by a Republican Arizona Legislature, signed into law by a Republican Governor, validated by a Republican United States Congress and signed into law by a Republican President.

For Rep. Farnsworth, upholding the letter and intent of the Gaming Compact is less important than being the most important elected official on the mall, replete with his name and picture on the front page of the Capitol Times, as the lone Republican supporting the outrageous actions of the tribe under the ruse of defending private property rights.

His public position is ludicrous, when you consider that this particular piece of private property has been claim-jumped by a sovereign nation in direct contravention of the Arizona Compact, signed into law by Arizona, the United States and twenty three indian tribes. It does, however, give him a chance to thumb his nose at the Speaker, the Rules Chairman and others who do not bow to him.

The subterfuge undertaken by the tribe that takes this prime real estate off the tax rolls is just the beginning of the damage. The consequences to the City of Glendale in the form of additional infrastructure costs, lifestyle degradation and increased criminal activity will be compounded by permanent damage to neighboring small business entrepreneurs and will cause incalculable future costs to city, county and state taxpayers.

We fear that this is just the beginning of Chapter Two of the Farnsworth Follies. In two years, with redistricting as a possible corrective tool, the voters will hopefully decide to restrict his tenure to a single term. It is never too early to begin the process to provide that service to our great state.

Congratulations

Reince Priebus new RNC Chair

The Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman, Reince Priebus has been elected as the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee on the seventh ballot. Mr. Priebus led on every ballot, and increased his vote total on every ballot that culminated with 97 votes. The Committee later unanimously approved his selection by acclimation.

The former Chairman, Michael Steele, dropped out after the fourth ballot as his support waned on every ballot from 44 on the first ballot to 28 on the fourth.

Mr. Priebus has a record of suporting the grass roots activists, working closely with AFP, Tea Party and other conservative organizations in what has traditionally been a blue state. Under his leadership, the GOP won the US Senate Seat (defeating Russ Feingold of the notorious McCain-Feingold law), the Governorship, six of the Congressional seats and both houses of the Legislature.

Haney, Conservative Slate

squashes McCain, Cheatham

Today's Maricopa County Statutory Meeting at the El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, was the site of an overwhelming Conservative victory in the election of Republican Party Leadership for the next two years. Incumbent Chairman Rob Haney defeated newcomer McCain supported candidate Bill Cheatham by the largest margin in recent memory.

The winning margin of more than 700 votes, 1281 for Haney to 575 for Cheatham, should be a message that should at long last be accepted by the big government, amnesty loving, left wing of the Party that they are not in step with the majority of Republicans in this state.

If those who advocate for bigger government, ceding of states rights, amnesty, socialized medicine, abortion rights and homosexual rights want to continue in the political arena, perhaps they should follow the advice of President Ronald Reagan:

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs, which must not be compromised to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers.... And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these conservative principles, then let them go their own way."

Misplaced finger pointing

"Unintended consequences by one's actions do come home to roost.", states Wes Harris, in a visceral diatribe against Rob Haney. It is unfortunate that Mr. Harris makes accusations against one of our greatest patriots in Maricopa County. It is nearly surreal considering the fact that Mr. Harris has done little more than create disharmony and conflict in his short time in the Party.

Lets see if we can help Mr. Harris. It is the right, no, the DUTY of every conservative Republican to bend every effort supporting the conservative candidate on the ballot - General AND Primary. Rob Haney has a clear and consistent record of fulfilling that duty. Every conservative registered voter - including Precinct Committeemen - should do likewise. To do less would be an abrogation of the values that true conservatives espouse.

Going further, Mr. Tom Husband has gone on record challenging you to substantiate that Mr. Haney used his office title to endorse or support any candidate in the Primary. You have failed to provide such documentation, since there is none available. NOTE: No Precinct Committeeman or Party Elected Official is required to give up their Freedom of Speech rights in order to serve.

We are surprised about one thing you allege Mr. Haney did. For him to converse with you in a pleasant manner is more than you deserved. Maybe that is due to the fact he was not surprised at your baseless charges considering your actions since you stumbled out into the political arena in an obvious effort to promote yourself.

You can be comforted by the fact that your actions will not be laid at the feet of the Tea Party. No one of import has looked at you as a bonafide representative of the Tea Party for many months.

We are especially mindful of the fact that this attack comes less than 24 hours prior to the Statutory Meeting. Exactly how much are you under the influence of the RINO/Chamber functionaries - as much as Ms Bolick, who raised much of her campaign funds from that particular group?

If you are going play politics, you should at least learn the basics of the game before you try your hand at intrigue.

TSA Methods Will Kill More Americans on Highway

The recent public ire toward the TSA’s new pat-down and body imaging screening methods is likely to lead to a spike in car-related deaths that will be far larger than any plane-related safety benefits.

As the nation readies for one of the busiest traveling holidays, Steven Horwitz, a professor of economics at St. Lawrence University, states that the probable spike in road travel, caused by adverse feelings towards the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) new screening procedures, would lead to more car-related deaths.

Car-related accidents now account for 115 deaths EVERY DAY in the United States. That is comparable to the crash of one commuter airliner daily!

“Driving is much more dangerous than flying, as you are far more likely to be killed in an automobile accident mile-for-mile than you are in an airplane,” said Horwitz. “The result will be that the new TSA procedures will kill more Americans on the highway.”

Clifford Winston, a senior fellow of economic studies at the Brookings Institute, said that the airline industry will definitely see a decline in passengers if the public’s contempt for the pat-downs and advanced-imaging technology systems continues.

Anecdotally, a friend of ours who usually flies for family and personal reasons once every couple of months, has already made the decision to not fly as long as these procedures are in place.

So, we will have a negative impact on our economy AND we will end up killing more Americans. Sounds like a success story for the Soros, Obama, Napolitano Progressive Communists.

Shellacked at home

It appears that the President has failed in his billion dollar mission to restore his tarnished image. On November 2, the policies of Barack Hussein were repudiated by his foster countrymen with a thorough shellacking at the ballot box. Americans made the right choice in turning out nearly seventy Democrat Congressmen along with the governors of almost all of the midwestern states plus a few more for good measure.

For comfort and reactualization of his ID, Barack Hussein returned to his boyhood homeland. To his dismay, this journey became the location of his second shellacking in two weeks at the hands of his muslim, sino and european friends.

Sometimes a boy just doesn't know where to turn for repair to his ego. Maybe he should try the country that calls him their son - Kenya. It may prove once again that all of life is a circle.

Procrastination will only make the problem worse

Arizona is 900 million dollars in the hole and getting deeper. Our General Fund revenues are about a 100 million dollars a month less than our expenditures. That is about 25 million a week. What that means is the legislature needs to come in NOW and reduce the budget by at least 1.5 billion dollars.

Every day agencies are spending money we don't have. The longer we wait to do the cuts, the less money there will be to fix the problem. We have agencies that are still bloated with administrators and managers. We have agencies that were created in good economic times that are duplications of other layers of government or intrude into areas previously handled well by private industry .

Arizona needs to put a five year moratorium on any new regulation by state and local government that restricts business. This moratorium needs to retroactively include many state, county and local regulations that were conceived as hidden tax raising schemes on Arizona businesses and homeowners over the last decade. All regulations not directly addressing health and safety, that restricts home businesses need to be eliminated.

It is better to see street signs trying to attract customers into a business or store than all these empty storefronts and office buildings. It is better to have someone running a business out of their house than have all these empty foreclosures and "For Sale" signs up and down every street.

City ordinances that require developers to establish an HOA on all new developments need to be rescinded and current property owners need the ability to rescind their current HOA status. Government must get out of the way if we are to get our economy growing again.

Waiting only makes it worse.

Already, 2.2 million votes have been cast — perhaps not half of what will be cast overall, but not too far from it. And bear in mind, this is a state with 4.6 million registered Democrats and only 4 million registered Republicans (plus 2.2 million independents). Something big might be happening down there — it’s at least clear that the state GOP has been working on its early vote operation.

Not fatal, but not good news for Alex Sink, the Democratic nominee in the close governor’s race. Also not good news for Democratic Reps. Alan Grayson, Suzanne Kosmas, Ron Klein, or Allen Boyd. Nor for Joe Garcia, the Democratic nominee for the open 25th Congressional District in South Florida.

Pennsylvania: The latest absentee ballot statistics released show a strong Republican tilt in the Keystone State where 53,226 (59%) absentee ballots have been returned by registered Republicans compared with 37,631 (41%) by registered Democrats.

Worse still for Democrats, the enthusiasm gap pollsters have predicted appears to be coming true. So far, Democrats have returned 55% of the absentee ballots they requested. Republicans have returned 67%.

Nevada: In Democratic Clark County, Republicans UP 13 points from a 22-point Democratic advantage in 2008. In Reno's Washoe County, Republicans UP 18 points from a 12-point Democrat advantage in 2008.

Colorado: Republican over Democrat early returns by 61,500 this year, where Democrats were up over Republicans in 2008 by 25,000 early ballots. That is a swing of over 86,500 to the GOP!

SURPRISE!! Four days before the General Election, we get a skewed, totally misleading Unemployment Figure from the Obama Administration Department of Labor.

Today, they touted a 21,000 reduction in Initial Claims using a Seasonally (Politically?) Adjusted Rate.

However, the actual number of Initial Claims, according to the DOL, is actually INCREASED by 11,678.

Does it make you or your neighbor that the Obama Administration lowered the number of people filing new claims through a mathematical formula that they develop? Is this part of the Hopey Changey thing?

How do you feel about the fact that the real percentage of Americans who want a full time job and cannot find one is actually over 20%?

Will their Seasonally Adjusted numbers somehow be revised next week -- after the Election? (Happened more than 20 weeks this year.)

The meeting and socializing

We are ten days out and it is past time to cease the "greet, meet and retreat" groups where we talk about politics. The members of the audience are already involved and know the problems of the system, the good and bad candidates, and how they are going to vote.

Our candidates need boots on the ground and voices on live phone lines to push Republicans to return their early ballots NOW. As of this writing on early Saturday morning, less than one-third of Republican early ballots have been returned. We will NOT defeat Kirkpatrick, Hulburd, Mitchell, Grijalva and Giffords for Congress, nor Johnson, Schapira, Rios, Aguirre, Alvarez and Cage for the State Senate unless those ballots are completed and returned on time!

We encourage everyone in Maricopa County to contact Dave Schweikert personally at 602-619-3330 or check his website at: www.david10.com. Better yet, take a shortcut and go to his Scottsdale office at 4110 N. Goldwater, on the second floor, south side of the building. You'll see the signs. The calls you make there will also help turn our legislature into a veto-proof majority.

Of course, David could use some cash to counter the scurrilous Democrat Committee attacks, but more importantly he needs YOU to schedule time to make personal phone calls encouraging Republicans to return their early ballots.

There are more than 50,000 Republican ballots not returned in CD5 in Maricopa County alone as of this writing. If those ballots are returned, we will have an unprecedented increase in conservative Republicans in our legislature and will ensure the retirement of Mitchell, Hulburd, etal.

So lets stop the partying and socializing until after 7pm on November 2. The real party will begin when the work is done.

Thanks for all you do, but now is the time to "double down" on this effort.

Former Republican presidential contender John McCain on the campaign trail Saturday in San Diego, offering a blistering indictment of Barbara Boxer’s record on military issues; the “most bitterly partisan, most anti-defense senator in the United States Senate today” – an assessment he said he’d made while having “the unpleasant experience of serving with her.”

“When you hear her say that she supports the men and women in the military, my friends, she does not,” said McCain, a former Navy pilot who was held as a prisoner of war in Vietnam for five and half years after his plane was shot down in 1967.

“Because Barbara Boxer has never supported the mission; she has never supported victory whether it be in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or anywhere else in the world. Barbara Boxer wants to wave the white flag of surrender and endanger this nation’s national security. It’s time she went back to San Francisco with [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi.”

Careful, what would happen if McCain actually started voting as a Republican. That would really be a dream.

First lady Michelle Obama violated Illinois law -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place -- and the White House defended her violation!!

The drama began after Mrs. Obama stopped off at the Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote. After finishing at the machine, Mrs. NObama let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.

"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.

According to the pool reporter at the scene, the conversation took place IN the voting center not far from the booths.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place."

A top Ilinois State Board of Elections official tells the DRUDGE REPORT how Mrs. Obama may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.

"You kind of have to drop the standard for the first lady, right?" the official explained late Thursday. "I mean, she's prety well liked and probably doesn't know what she's doing."

When questioned about the brazen nature of Mrs. Obama's campaigning, press secretary Robert Gibbs defended the action. "I don't think it would be much to imagine, the First Lady might support her husband's agenda," Gibbs smiled.

Outrage Part Deux

Flagstaff resident Diane Wickberg was twice stopped by Coconino County elections workers at the polls this year for wearing a Flagstaff "tea party" T-shirt even though she was NOT electioneering for any candidate.

One wonders what the White House position is on this case -- or in case a husband, wife, child or parent of a state legislator went in to electioneer for their family member in violation of the law. Less than 20 days to bring some sanity to our government.

Today is the tenth anniversary of an egregious terrorist attack on our nation and the airwaves are silent.

The USS Cole was attacked and 17 American members of our Navy were killed by Islamic terrorists.

While the attacks on 9-11 killed more souls, the USS Cole was just as insidious and heartbreaking to the families of these brave warriors.

The mastermind of this terrorist attack STILL has not been brought before the Bar of Justice. Our system says that justice delayed is justice denied, but that only seems to apply to a selected group.

PROPOSITIONS

Proposition 106 YES
Amends the Constitution to prohibit any law from compelling participation in any particular health care system. It would provide for purchase and sale of insurance in private health care systems. The proposition allows individuals to pay health care providers directly without penalty or fine.

Proposition 107 YES
Amends the Constitution to ban programs that give preferential treatment to or discriminate against any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin. The ban would apply to the state, counties, cities and towns. It would also affect universities and school districts. This repeal of affirmative action policies allows for fair opportunities for all job candidates.

Proposition 109 YES
Establishes hunting, fishing and harvesting wildlife as constitutional rights for Arizona citizens; prevents any law or rule that would restrict these rights.

Proposition 110 YES
Amends state land laws to allow for the exchange of public land. This proposition is vital to maintaining Arizona ’s military bases that have been threatened by encroaching development.

Proposition 111 Neutral
Changes the Office of Secretary of State to the Office of Lieutenant Governor, maintains current duties and funding. Establishes that the Lieutenant Governor candidates run individually in the Primary with the Primary winners to run as a single team with the Governor candidate in the General Election.
Proposition 112 YES
Citizen initiatives have been disqualified from the ballot after checks of petition signatures uncovered fraudulent signatures. Increases the time for filing an initiative petition to no less than six months preceding the date of the election for the proposed measures to allow for accurate verification.

Proposition 113 YES
Amends the constitution to include a right to vote by secret ballot for employee representation. The right to vote by secret ballot is a fundamental right. If unions attempted to institute a “card check” instead of the secret ballot, workers would face intimidation to support union organization.

Proposition 203 NO
This proposition would allow patients with specific medical conditions to obtain marijuana with a physician’s certification to treat the identified medical condition or related symptoms. The proposition also includes severe or chronic pain as a reason to prescribe, which invites the potential to abuse.

Proposition 301 YES
Would move money from the outstanding balance in the Land Conservation Fund to help balance the state budget for FY 2011. The balance is currently unused & estimated at $150+ million, and if the proposition does not pass, it would open up a hole that size in the current budget.

Proposition 302 YES
Voters also have an opportunity to repeal the Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First) and redirect the funding to health and human services to children. The tobacco revenues accrued for First Things First have done little except create a bureaucracy. The enacted FY 11 budget assumes the passage of Proposition 302 to close the budget gap by $345million in revenues. Should this measure fail at the ballot, deeper children’s program cuts are inevitable.

Dear President Obama,

“We The People” have stated resolutely we reject your vision for our country. You claim you have not heard us.

“We The People” have assembled across America resisting your efforts to subvert our constitution and undermine our liberty. You claim you have not seen us.

Since you have not acknowledged our message, let us here present it once more for if as President Wilson said, “a leader’s ear must ring with the voices of the people,” the time has come.

Our greatest treasure is freedom – the absence of restraints on our ability to think and to act. The corollary of freedom is individual responsibility. We believe in the power of the individual.

A few years ago President Bush said, “History moves toward freedom because the desire for freedom is written in every human heart.” Let us add that we will preserve it only as long as devotion to freedom is expressed in the heart of our actions.

When President Lincoln dedicated Gettysburg National Cemetery he declared, “It is for us the living to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus so nobly advanced.”

That unfinished cause for which our soldiers willingly go to battle and for which so many have given their lives is a free United States of America. It has been nearly one hundred fifty years and the work President Lincoln spoke of is not finished. In fact, that work will never be finished.

Freedom is the capacity of self-determination. It is not an entity but a condition and conditions change. Freedom can expand, yet so can it contract.

You promised change when you took office, Mr. President, but subjugation is not change we wanted or will accept.

You have expanded government, violated our Constitution, confounded laws, seized private industry, destroyed jobs, perverted our economy, curtailed free speech, corrupted our currency, weakened our national security, and endangered our sovereignty.

By compromising our nation’s cultural, legal and economic institutions, you are ensuring that our children will never achieve the same quality of life as we enjoy today. Through generational theft you are robbing the unborn of opportunity.

This is not acceptable. Not in America. We did not become a strong nation through hope but rather through self-reliance.

No one better understands the relationship between individual achievement, dignity and strength than our armed forces. Through every war our soldiers have held this nation’s destiny in their hands. They have not failed us. They cherish freedom enough that they are willing to die for it.

Our duty to them and to ourselves is to treasure freedom enough to live up to it.

We accept the challenge, Mr. President. That is why we are assembling across the land to deliver our message to you as often and in every way we can. Dismiss us at your political peril.

Our great nation is a Republic. We will not accept tyranny under any guise. Your policy to redistribute the fruits of our labor is Statism and will not be tolerated.

By our honor, Mr. President, we vow forever to resist coercive government in America. Patriots will not stand silent as you attempt to dismantle the greatest nation on earth. “We The People” will defend our liberty. We will protect our beloved country and America’s exceptionalism will prevail.

Battle of the Bilge

One of the most pivotal battles of World War II was the German offensive called the Battle of the Bulge through the Ardenne Forest beginning Christmas Week of 1944. Even though there was intelligence suggesting a German attack, Allied leaders did not take appropriate precautions. Only the resistance of the 101st Airborne under the command of General McAuliffe in the town of Bastogne stopped the German advance. Under General Patton, the American Third Army made one of the most historic movement of men and equipment in the history of warfare. The American victory at Bastogne cemented the demise of the Third Reich.

Fast Forward to 2008. American life as we have known it was attacked from within by the socialists, progressives, communists, liberals and the appeasing actions of the monied establishment. This unfortunate consortium of the truly evil with money grubbing parasites has brought our nation to a state of risk not experienced since The Civil War. The promise of hope and change to improve our country is now clearly shown to have been a scheme that will destroy our basic values unless defeated.

The policies advanced by this group can only be described as Bilge water. Bilge water is a collection of detritus like urine and feces from seabirds and unscrupulous sailors, tar, food material, and other dirt that has accumulated on deck. Bilge water is noxious, bad, fouled, or otherwise offensive. The Obama Care, Financial Reform, Justice Department actions, Cap and Trade, Stimulus, DREAM Act are all anathema to our Constitutional foundations and has all the components of Bilge water.

Pachyderm Coalition Reagan Platform Republican Conservatives have been in the trenches fighting the liberal RINO advances here in Arizona this decade, and without your efforts this war could already have been lost. Now we look expectantly to the arrival of the Tea Party members to wrap up a major victory and defeat our country's enemies.

October of 2010 is our chance to act in the best interest of our country, as General Patton did in 1944. It is time for all to do everything possible to win this Battle of the Bilge. AZRTL PAC Decision

Harms Pro-Life Agenda

- AGAIN!

Once again, the Arizona Right to Life Political Action Committee (AZRTL PAC) has shot the Pro-Life agenda in the head with confounding endorsements - or lack thereof. Earlier this summer, the AZRTL PAC sold out to money interests by endorsing a candidate with a checkered record over a candidate with a 100% Pro-Life voting record. Nearly all of the grass roots pro-life, pro-family Reagan conservatives felt that decision was not only irresponsible, it was likely to result in further federal pro-abortion actions. Since this decision had such heinous possibilities to the unborn, many Pro-Life adherents protested the wrong headed decision with phone calls and e-mails but the PAC board chaired by Walt Opaska followed the orders of John Jakubczyk and his financial boss. This bad decision caused such a rift that members of the AZRTL PAC Board resigned their position.

Today, the AZRTL PAC has compounded that bad decision. AZRTL PAC released its endorsements for the General Election and has refused to endorse Tom Horne, who, according to their own press release "has publicly pledged to vigorously enforce and defend all pro-life laws and while in legislature, he voted to ban partial birth abortion (HB 2113 4/8/97) and supported a parental consent law (SB 1238 2/23/00). Democrat candidate Felecia Rotellini has refused to answer our questions regarding her position on abortion but is strongly supported by Sam Coppersmith, abortion provider Planned Parenthood, and the pro-abortion groups Emily's List and Arizona's List."

Growing Our Party takes a back seat to no one in support of Life and supports stringent standards for candidate endorsements. For AZRTL PAC to refuse to endorse a candidate who has grown in his understanding of Pro-Life issues over many, many years, who has a record of supporting parental consent and banning partial birth abortion in the state legislature, who has NO history of taking any position against Life issues in the last decade, and who pledges to vigorously enforce and defend all pro-life laws when the opponent is one of the most radical pro-abortion candidates for the chief law enforcement for the state in recent history is irrational and could result in the loss of innocent life here in Arizona.

Growing Our Party endorsed Andy Thomas in the Primary because we believed him to be stronger on this issue than Mr. Horne. However, the Primary is over and we have to decide who is the better pro-life candidate placed before the voters on the General Election ballot. There can be no doubt that Tom Horne is that person and that he is deserving of the AZRTL PAC endorsement.

Therefore, we call on AZRTL PAC to make a principled decision by reverse this decision and protect life by endorsing the candidacy of Tom Horne in this General Election.

The Progressives/Liberals/Socialists that are in control of our federal government and are trying to take charge of our state and local governments continually denigrate the words of our founders as out of touch with the modern world.

The fact is that the words found in the Declaration of Independence as well as the Constitution, buttressed with the wise statements of leaders like Thomas Paine, Poor Richard, Ben Franklin and others are timeless.

Now we need to identify and elect leaders that will implement their words by placing the common good above personal interests.

The jig is up and it is now being noticed by the national news that you have practiced a one-way policy.

While the problem has been consistent for many, many years, this year has seen the most egregious actions by your ilk. The actions of Crist, Castle, Murkowski have been the most open, but not the only cases where the establishment RINO/Mods have gone out of their way to try to defeat the conservative winner in the Primary.

Neil Cavuto started his program today with a nursery of crying babies and split screened Crist, Castle and Murkowski with the crybabies for illustration. Quite appropriate!!!

In light of Tea Party candidate Ovide Lamontagne stumping for establishment candidate Kelly Ayotte in New Hampshire after Ayotte beat Lamontagne in the primary, here’s a brief history of recent moments in party loyalty and disloyalty in the GOP, off the top of my head:

•1994, GOP nominates conservative Ollie North for Senate. Moderate Sen. John Warner, in response, recruited independent Marshall Coleman to run, and Coleman took enough votes from North so that Chuck Robb (D) held on and won with less than 50%.

•2001, conservative Bret Schundler pulls off an upset in the gubernatorial primary, beating Bob Franks, and the establishment leaves him out to dry and lose badly to Jim McGreevey.

•2004, Rick Santorum and George W. Bush go to the mat to save liberal Sen. Arlen Specter from a primary challenge by conservative Sen. Pat Toomey. Bush appears at a rally for Specter, and Santorum cuts multiple TV ads for him. Specter wins narrowly, and Toomey endorses him. Specter then doesn’t show at a Bush-Cheney rally in the fall, and Bush loses Pennsylvania. After the election, Specter warns Bush not to send any anti-Roe justices his way.

•2006, conservative Tim Walberg defeats liberal Rep. Joe Schwarz in the GOP primary in Michigan. In 2008, Schwarz endorses the Democratic nominee, who wins.

•2008, conservative Andy Harris knocks off liberal Rep. Wayne Gilchrest in the GOP primary. Gilchrest then endorses the Democratic nominee, who beats Harris.

•2009, GOP operatives choose liberal Dede Scozzfava to run in a special election. Conservative forces get behind independent Doug Hoffman. When Scozzafava's support collapses in the polls, she drops out and endorses the Democrat, who wins.

•2009, Pat Toomey again challenges Sen. Arlen Specter in the GOP primary. When polls show Specter badly losing, he switches to run as a Democrat. When Specter loses his primary to liberal Democrat Joe Sestak, he warmly endorses Sestak.

•2010, Sen. Lisa Murkowski loses her Senate primary to Joe Miller. Murkowski runs as a write-in.

•2010, liberal Gov. Charlie Crist, with the backing of the GOP establishment, still falls behind conservative Marco Rubio in the polls. Crist runs as an independent.

•2010, liberal Rep. Mike Castle loses his primary to conservative Christine O’Donnell. Castle refuses to endorse.

Noticing a pattern? The pattern is this: party loyalty is a lie used to make conservatives more obedient.

Party Unity will only occur when all sections of "The Big Tent" stay in the tent regardless of Primary election outcomes.

Obamacare is even worse than critics thought

Six months ago, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed Obamacare down the throats of an unwilling American public.

Half a year removed from the unprecedented legislative chicanery and backroom dealing that characterized the bill's passage, we know much more about the bill than we did then.

A few of the revelations:

» Obamacare, according to Medicare's actuary, will increase, not lower, costs. The same is likely to happen for privately funded health care.

» Obamacare covers elective abortions, contrary to Obama's promise that it wouldn't. This means your tax dollars will be used to pay for abortions.

» Obamacare won't allow employees or most small businesses to keep the coverage they have and like. By Obama's estimates, as many as 69 percent of employees, 80 percent of small businesses, and 64 percent of large businesses will be forced to change coverage, probably to more expensive plans.

» Obamacare will increase insurance premiums -- in some places, it already has. Insurers, suddenly forced to cover clients' children until age 26, have little choice but to raise premiums.

» Obamacare will force seasonal employers -- especially the ski and amusement park industries -- to pay huge fines, cut hours, or lay off employees.

» Obamacare forces states to guarantee not only payment but also treatment for indigent Medicaid patients. With many doctors now refusing to take Medicaid (because they lose money doing so), cash-strapped states could be sued and ordered to increase reimbursement rates beyond their means.

» Obamacare imposes a huge nonmedical tax compliance burden on small business. It will require them to mail IRS 1099 tax forms to every vendor from whom they make purchases of more than $600 in a year, with duplicate forms going to the Internal Revenue Service.

» Obamacare allows the IRS to confiscate part or all of your tax refund if you do not purchase a qualified insurance plan. The bill funds 16,000 new IRS agents to make sure Americans stay in line.

If you wonder why so many American voters are angry, and no longer give Obama the benefit of the doubt on a variety of issues, you need look no further than Obamacare, whose birthday gift to America might just be a GOP congressional majority.

Need a reason to make sure your family, friends and neighbors vote Republican this election? This should be enough for you to convince them that their vote matters.

ANOTHER 'RINO' BETRAYAL

This past Friday, Senator Lisa Murkowski announced plans seek re-election as a write-in candidate in Alaska.

This past weekend, Lisa Murkowski attacked Sen. Jim DeMint for working against her, stating "I don't think that's it's particularly helpful to undercut fellow Republicans." This might be a fair criticism if she weren't the one running a write-in campaign against Republican nominee in her state.

The moderates and RINO liberals love to lecture conservatives about how we need to support liberal candidates to "expand the tent" and win seats for Republicans. But when these Republican-in-name-only ("RINO") lose their primaries, many leave the party and join the opposition. Lisa Murkowski is the latest by following in the footsteps of Arlen Specter and Charlie Crist.

Murkowski's betrayal provides more proof that big-tent hypocrites don't really care about winning a majority for Republicans. Conservative candidates are in it for their country while too many RINO's seek office for personal status and power.

Murkowski supported a massive cap-and-trade energy tax that would permanently destroy millions of jobs in this country. Murkowski has waffled on whether she would support repeal of Obama's health care take over. Murkowski is one of the worst abusers of the pay-to-play earmarks system. And Murkowski doesn't support the sanctity of human life.

With positions like these that are in direct conflict with the Republican Party Platform, it's no surprise Murkowski and other liberal RINO's are leaving the party. We are glad that they are leaving and only wish that they would take the other RINO's with them.

As long as we have Republican elected officials advocating higher taxes, bigger and more intrusive government, and other issues in direct conflict with our Constitution, the collateral damage to our stature with the population at large will serve to damage our ability to return America to the Founding Principles.

The Democrats have been accusing the Republican Party as being the Party of No. Well, we have recently discovered that the Democrat Party Progressives are homophonically challenged in addition to their other serious deficiencies.

The Republican Party and its Platform as constructed by Ronald Reagan is the Party of KNOW!

Republicans KNOW that raising taxes in a recession is bad policy.

Republicans KNOW that failing to secure one's property, whether personal, corporately or nationally, invites criminals and terrorists to destroy what one has earned through hard work.

Republicans KNOW that licentious immoral behavior degrades the values of the community.

Republicans KNOW that a government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you treasure.

Republicans KNOW that a government socialist "health" system will end up bankrupting the treasury AND killing people.

Republicans KNOW that facism is harmful and that companies of all sizes can and should be allowed to fail if they are unable to compete in a free marketplace.

Republicans KNOW that elected officials are supposed to be the employees of the electorate, not the other way around.

Republicans KNOW that the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, is the bedrock of this nation, and that we need to rein in the black robed activists who are acting unconstitutionally.

The Time is NOW

Early ballots will be in the mail in 25 days. It is important to keep in mind that most of the ballots cast in our elections are early ballots. Races will, for all intents and purposes, be won or lost weeks before Election Day.

The PAChyderm Coalition IEPAC Committee will decide the pecking order for Independent Expenditure assistance this week. Your contributions will enable us to widen the field of targeted races.

What happened to the Budget Deficit Solution??

Just five months ago voters were told of the need to impose a one-cent sale tax increase for the next three years to balance the budget.

NOW??

Arizona faces a budget deficit of over a billion dollars this year IF the voters pass the propositions allowing the stripping of over a half billion from First Things First and Conservation Funds.

Think that is bad?? Well, the projected budget deficit is $1.5 billion in FY 2012- if their projections are correct (They never are correct, the reality is ALWAYS worse than the projection).

To make things worse, the budget deficit will continue to get worse in fiscal year 2013.

NOW COMES THE REALLY BAD NEWS!

In 2014, the deficit will double with the expiration of the three year temporary sales tax.

Anyone shocked that, once again, the electorate has been snookered by those we have hired??

The Unemployment Scam

Are you unemployed?

Not if you are on federal extended unemployment benefits - even if you were laid off from your job and have been unable to find work.

Not if you have run out of unemployment benefits - even if you were laid off from your job and have been able to find work.

Not if you have applied at every business who uses your skills and they are laying off and you do not have any chance to find employment in your skills.

Not if you have risked all your life savings in starting a business that failed due to the economic downturn.

Not if you were laid off in California or one of the other eight states that did not report data to the Department of Labor this week due to the Labor Day Holiday so the Obama crew was forced to "estimate" new claims.

That is the way the Obama Administration counts unemployment.

The Obama Administration that promised that unemployment would not exceed 8% if we passed the stimulus package, and has now led us through Recovery Summer tells us we are making progress.

In spite of a myriad of accounting gimmicks, they are now reporting 9.6% unemployment. The facts are that the number of people looking for work that cannot find such work is over 20%. The highest since the Great Depression and the Obama Administration is using the FDR method that increases the chance we will be in this mess for a decade.

We have the opportunity to make sure that dire situation is corrected beginning four weeks from now as we cast our early ballots. It is time to bring the hopey-changey thing to a screeching halt. Take the Richard Daley course and vote early and vote often.

Doug Ducey -

worse than we even thought

First, there is well documented evidence that Doug Ducey left a trail of devastation and bankruptcies for those who invested in his business escapades. One of the causes for this sorry outcome is the fact that franchisees were required purchase 100% of their product from one vendor and if they didn't they were in breech of contract. With Ducey's reputation for being a great businessman, people wondered why this vendor's prices were the highest in the marketplace. An in-depth investigation uncovered the fact that Ducey's sole vendor was required to remit to corporate (Ducey) a percentage of the gross cost of everything the franchisee ordered. This looks and functions similar to schemes called "kickbacks".

Then we were amazed when his financial disclosure forms listed fewer resources than the homeless under the Seventh Avenue bridge. NO investments, NO stocks, NO bonds, NO holdings, nothing but a family trust. In addition, Ducey is listed as Chairman of the Board of IMemories, yet he shows NO debtors, NO creditors and NO property for the company. This is especially troubling for a candidate who would be investing billions of taxpayer dollars if he should be successful. How would anyone know if the investments were beneficial to "the family trust?"

Next his contributors are dominated by the McCain Amnesty crowd - The Hensley gang (Yonko, Delgado, Delgado, and Chiocca), Andrew McCain, Mac Magruder and spouse, Don Budinger, and the LeVecke gang (Carl, Neisha and Margaret). Does anyone know of any candidate supported by the McCain/amnesty group who was not politically beholden to follow the dictates of the group?

With those revelations as a background, we were still surprised that Ducey has only voted in the Primary Elections one time in the last decade. He is now asking Republican Primary voters to vote for him in this Primary Election when he almost totally refused to participate in that same system himself.

To recap - horrible business track record, unable or unwilling to complete candidate financial disclosure forms with transparency, financed by the McCain Amnesty cabal, and a personal slackard in his voting history.

Thayer Verschoor is the only true conservative running for State Treasurer; a conservative who voted for the largest tax cuts in the history of the state; a Reagan Republican who is one of only six legislators to ever be awarded the prestigious "Spirit of '76" honor by the Pachyderm Coalition; a fiscal watchdog who received the coveted "Champion of the Taxpayer" award from Americans for Prosperity on multiple occasions; a patriot endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Senator Russell Pearce; and a leader endorsed by 25 of his fellow legislators - men and women who worked with him on a daily basis. That is a track record to be valued and supported. A record few, if any, can match.

Arizona Hotels Thriving

in the middle of the Boycott!!!

The latest news from national sources show that what was supposed to be a boycott of Arizona over SB1070, has actually turned into a Buycott! According to a new study from the hotel industry research firm STR, hotel occupancy was up 5.7 percent in May and up 8.3 percent in June compared with the same time a year ago.

In a repudiation of the Boycott Arizona open borders gangsters, Phoenix hotel occupancy was up 10.6 percent in June; in Scottsdale, it was up 10.7 percent for the same period. Revenue also was up, with Arizona hotels raking in $148 million last month -- up more than 11 percent from a year ago.

Growing Our Party has been told for a couple of months now about people who were coming to Arizona from around the country specifically to support the rule of law and protection of our sovereignty. This is the first data available that substantiates those anecdotal stories and confirms the fact that good things happen when you do the right thing for the right reasons.

Maybe the Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Phoenix Leadership, ATRA, and the Republic should re-evaluate their position on SB1070. Of course, that won't happen. In fact, the Republic will continue to live in denial, since they won't even print this story.

Rocky Mountain Poll now
discredited by journalists

Earl deBerge and his polling institutions (Rocky Mountain and Behavioral Research) have finally gone where no one ever has gone before. In the latest Senate poll? that they released, the number of independents included amounted to 40% of those called. With over 30% of the registered voters being independents, that might not seem too ridiculous, however, the record is that independents participating in Republican primaries falls in the 2% range.

In addition, Earl de McCain, refuses to release the specific questions used in the poll. It is a major point of credibility for pollsters to release the questions, the setup information relayed to the person being polled and the sequence the questions are asked. These actions are consistent with the actions of John McCain, which may be why there seems to be a blood-brother relationship between these two.

McCain confesses in his own book, Worth the Fighting for, that when he has had the option of losing or lying, he has chosen lying. What an incredible statement to make, especially when it is done without regret or repentance. To vote for a person because you believe in him, when he states that he will lie without equivocation is non-sensical.

Now to the important point. Conservatives need to redouble their efforts over the next fourteen days. Reliable information in the Republic this morning indicates that Hayworth and McCain are within the Deakin margin. Earl only missed the correct result by the omission of a dash. Instead of 45 points, the correct answer is 4-5 points. Additionally, Deakin damaged himself in the two televised debates this week and it is clear that a vote for Jimmie is a vote for McCain.

Moral victories can make a difference in some occasions, however, real victories change the course of history. Barry Goldwater won a moral victory over the Rockefeller liberals, but it took the Reagan victory to actually change the policies of our country.

JD's victory will change the landscape of Arizona politics as we have known it. The influence of the McCain gang throughout cities, counties, chambers of commerce, special interest lobbying organizations, etc. cannot be overstated. Now is the time to light the afterburners. Victory is in sight, but can only be accomplished with conservatives doing the hard work in the summer heat.

Where's the Soap?

When we were young, it was common practice for parents to wash out the mouth of children who lied. Obviously, John McCain's parents never took the effort to apply the Ivory to Johnny's mouth.

As a state and as a nation, there must be a foundation even more basic than the Constitution and that is the integrity of our leaders. We say that because even the socialists and communists use the Constitution falsely to confound and mislead the public. A man's word should be his bond, and a graduate of the United States Naval Academy should have learned this prior to getting his uniform, if he didn't know it before.

Phoenix, AZ (JULY 17) - Sen. John McCain looked the people of Arizona in the eye during last night's televised debate and lied when he said "And by the way I never supported amnesty."

"In his book Worth The Fighting For, John said that he was faced with a tough choice during his 2000 bid for the Presidency," said U.S. Senate Candidate J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ). "John, in his own words, decided lying was the best way out of a difficult situation. He made the same decision when faced with his continuing support for amnesty last night."

In McCain's book, he wrote: "I didn't want to do this. But I could tell from the desperate looks of my staff that we had an enormous problem. And that it could come down to lying or losing. I chose lying."

On December 15, 2000, McCain entered a statement into the Congressional record that said: "In particular, this bill makes meaningful but insufficient progress on amnesty for those wrongly denied it, and does not address legitimate concerns about Central American refugee parity."

On May 29, 2003, the Tucson Citizen quoted McCain saying: "Amnesty has to be an important part because there are people who have lived in this country for 20, 30 or 40 years, who have raised children here and pay taxes here and are not citizens."

He sponsored not once, but twice the McCain-Kennedy amnesty legislation that would cost American taxpayers $2.6 trillion in retirement benefits alone for illegal aliens who are granted amnesty.

And as late as April 10 of this year, his office was sending out letters that stated: "Considering our national interest in identifying these individuals (illegal aliens) and our inability to round up and deport all of them, we must provide these individuals with incentives to come forward, complete security background checks, pay any owed taxes and stiff penalties for breaking the law, learn to speak English, and regularize their status."

Hayworth said "regularize" is just McCain's latest code word for amnesty.

"First it was amnesty, and then it was comprehensive immigration reform, now a new one - regularize," he said. "But it is all the same amnesty pure and simple."

"John lied last night. Arizona deserves a Senator the people can trust," Hayworth said.

Growing Our Party is obligated to remind everyone that John McCain voted for the 1986 Amnesty fiasco. It appears that McCain has become a pathological liar and cannot discern truth from fiction. Arizona deserves a senator that it can trust. John McCain is not that man.

I don't know about you, but it seems at times that even the best of us are forgetful about the reason that originally brought us to the political scene.

The makeup of our next legislature may very well hinge on "conservative" Republicans backing other tried and true conservative Republicans instead of opening the door for RINO's.

We experienced this in 2008 with the Phony Tony escapades. Now it seems to have spread to the far reaches of the county.

With only three weeks until Primary early ballots are mailed out, "conservative" legislators, candidates and their friends would do well to read these two quotes every morning and every evening.

Democratic Polling firm Democracy Corps (D) has a new survey out that should send chills up the spines of Democrats. Like the recent NPR survey, there's really no good news there for Democrats. Among the findings of the poll of likely voters:

•62% believe the country is on the wrong track.
•Republicans have a higher "thermometer" rating.
•Republicans lead in the generic ballot, 48%-42%.
•Democrats barely lead on environment.
•Republicans lead on ALL other issues.
•Obama's approval is under water, 45%-51%.
•Obamacare bill still appears to be a net drag.
•The President's personal ratings have all slid.
•55% think the label "socialist" describes Obama.
•Obama's done nothing to improve the economy.
•Cut taxes and spending to improve the economy.

And this is the good news from BO's friends.

Legislative Candidates

According to Rasmussen Reports, only 13% of voters believe that state budget crises are due to a lack of taxes, while 75% believe that uncontrolled spending is the main cause of the problem. An amazing 12% don't have a clue. That 12% seems to be fairly consistent with every poll, regardless of the subject. We can only conclude that they are mental patients or live in a monastery.

Back to the usable information, this poll means that over 85% of people with demonstrated ability to form an opinion support cutting the spending. We actually believe this number will grow as more people receive information from sources other than the MSM and government union proponents.

CONCLUSION: CUT THE SPENDING AND DO IT NOW!

These are the important criteria to consider SB1070 and its relationship to the federal Code.

Almost everyone agrees that a state cannot pass and enforce a law that is contrary to federal law that is in line with the Constitution.

The federal government has just filed suit challenging the state of Arizona’s new anti-illegal immigration law. The basis? The Supremacy Clause, which says that federal law trumps state law.

But that argument should only have credibility if a state law is contrary to the federal law. In this case, the state law mimics the US Code.

It basically gives the state a mechanism to enforce federal law, to turn over people police have a reasonable suspicion to believe may be illegal over to the feds.

Courts have consistently ruled that the states have “concurrent authority” when state law only mimics federal law. -- Five federal appeals courts have applied this in context of illegal aliens, upholding states’ rights to arrest illegals.

It is also being reported that the other ground for the legal challenge is racial profiling but the SB1070 specifically addresses that issue In fact, SB1070 contains specific language that makes it illegal for a police officer or other government official to use profiling when enforcing the law. Current United States Statutes does not contain this safeguard.

Finally, a 2002 memo from the Justice department concluded that state police have “inherent power” to arrest undocumented immigrant for violating federal law. That memo will come back to haunt them now.

To come to any other conclusion would mean that state laws against robbery, kidnapping, and murder or laws banning discrimination or health and safety laws, etc. are all illegal since there are national statutes covering such actions.

The ridiculous position of the Obama Justice Department seems to be that whenever a state has a law covering an action that is covered under federal law, it would be automatically illegal under the Supremacy Clause. This has never been the law and any attempt to implement it in this case by a District Court would be shocking.

Are you listening BO? In case you can't figure it out on yourself, these numbers clearly demonstrate that your policies are opposed by more than just the occidentals you despise. We do not think you will listen, which is why we believe that the Republicans are odds-on favorites to take back the House, and even money to take back the Senate.

Orwell was only off 25 years

Yes, it can now be substantiated that Orwell's 1984 came into fruition a quarter century late. Barack Hussein Obama was inaugurated in 2009, and the world has been stood on its ear ever since. In fact, it seems that BO's 1984 mentality has infiltrated all the way down to the state, legislative and local levels of politics.

We have a proven left winger appointed to the post of interim countyattorney by a Republican dominated BOS for the purpose of protecting the unseemly and probably illegal actions of the board members - and no one exposes it.

We have one-time "conservatives" like Matt Salmon and Trent Franks endorsing big government progressives for a plethora of offices while refusing to return phone calls from those who faithfully supported them and the Constitution and Rule of Law for decades.

We have the governor crowing about a law that she did not support prior to a Rasmussen Poll showing 84% of Republican Primary voters favored it, simply to fool the public. The fact is SB1070 was written, pushed, argued and cajoled through the legislature by Russell Pearce without one sign of support from the ninth floor.

We have the Chambers of Commerce endorsing big government liberal candidates from both parties who will swear to pass legislation to enrich the filthy lucre of its members. Destroying the taxpayers in the course of their actions is of no mind to these self serving creatures.

Grass roots activists, the next 60 days will determine our fate. Senate races like Bundgaard v Bouie, Allen v Konopnicki, Klein v Braswell, Davis v Driggs, Silver v Nelson, Molina v Crandall, Smith v Byars, Griffin v Smith, Antenori v McClure.

House races where big government advocates are challenging true conservatives like Tobin/Campbell, McLain/Goodale, Burges/Harper, Seel/Fitzgerald, Smith/Sprague, Kavanagh/Ugenti, Douglas/Lesko, Weiers/Yee, Forese/Mesnard, Hendrix/Petillo.

It extends to statewide offices where Andrew Thomas and Thayer Verschoor are being challenged by certifiable left-wing big money candidates with a strong history of supporting Democrat candidates throughout their adult life. And, of course, Montgomery v Romley.

There are many other races at the federal level and legislative levels where there is a clear difference however, the races above are where the contrast is stark and very dangerous. Conservatives must not assume that they will have a strong candidate to rally around in November.

Early ballots will be sent out within the month. Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their state.

Rasmussen Reports that Sixty-six percent (66%) of U.S. voters describe themselves as at least somewhat angry at the media, including 33% who are Very Angry.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone poll finds that 31% say they are not overly angry at the media, but that includes just nine percent (9%) who say they are not at all angry.

Voters have consistently said in polls that the national media has a liberal bias and that most reporters try to help the candidates they want to be victorious. If organizations like the Republic continue to anger over two-thirds of the public, their demise will be sure and swift.

In her acceptance speech last night, South Carolina Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Nikki Haley clearly stated the problem that currently exists within the Republican Party across this nation.

"South Carolina has been 'settling'. We have been 'settling' for a Republican House, a Republican Senate and a Republican Governor. I won't stop until we get a conservative House, a conservative Senate and a conservative Governor."

This message needs to be sent to Randy Pullen and staff on 24th Street, the Ninth Floor of the Capitol, and the Second Floors in the House and Senate on the Mall:

We cannot any longer have our "conservative" leaders support programs, set up by socialists in the form of the Gulletts, like "Twelve in '10" that supports candidates like Meyer(D), Konopnicki, Fann, Driggs, Nelson, Reeve, and Crandall against tried and true conservative candidates;

We can no longer turn a blind eye to elected "conservatives" who give power and authority to personages like Grant Woods;

We can no longer accept Party Leadership who run as conservatives then spend the next two years working with the McCain, Chamber, Brewer Troika that tries to oust our conservative Precinct Committeemen.

It is time for a leader like Nikki Haley to rise up in Arizona. The voting public is looking for true conservative leadership in Arizona.

The Saul Alinsky Connection

For those who are not aware, Saul ALinsky was a card carrying member of the Communist Party of the USA made in the mold of Karl Marx. Alinsky wrote many books on how to destroy the American system of free enterprise, capitalism and democracy including Rules for Radicals.

In fact, his goal was to foment enough public discontent, moral confusion, and outright chaos to spark the social upheaval that Marx, Engels, and Lenin predicted -- a revolution whose foot soldiers view the status quo as fatally flawed and wholly unworthy of salvation.

He advised organizers and their disciples to quietly, subtly gain influence within the decision-making ranks of the media, publicschools, unions, churches and political parties. This background on Saul Alinsky is important to every parent, taxpayer and resident of Arizona for one reason.

Why are we talking about Saul Alinsky when talking Prop 100? It is fairly simple, Prop 100 is primarily being pushed by the Arizona Education Association, an arm of the National Education Association. The National Education Association, on its website, encourages its members to buy, read, and implement the philosophy of Saul Alinsky. As a footnote to this article, but, in the total picture, the agenda of the Obama socialists is clearly documented by Saul Alinsky's son, L. David Alinsky, who praises Obama for “learning his lesson well” from the Communist guru. As long as the AEA and its parent organization is supporting the communist manifesto through such works, NO more dollars should be given to the districts who operate under their leadership.

This is enough reason for any American who espouses the principals on which this country was founded to support vouchers, charters, private, long distance and home educational options - any and every avenue to protect our children from the indoctrination of these zealots.

Vote NO on Prop 100. It will be wasted by the bureaucracy, and will be diverted to expanding the socialist agenda.

THE WHOPPER

IT IS TIME FOR THE TEACHERS TO DISCOVER THAT THEIR PROBLEM IS NOT AT THE LEGISLATURE, BUT WITH THE SUPERINTENDENTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES.

IN ADDITION, THEIR UNION, THE AEA, IS COMPLICIT IN THE MISREPRESENTATIONS.

Any educational funds from this tax will go to districts ONLY.

The brochure we received from the YES people states there are 140,000 more enrolled than in 2004. THAT IS A BLATANT LIE.

The fact is that in the district system there were 887,489 TOTAL ADMs in 2004 and the current district TOTAL ADMs are 931,844. These numbers are straight from the Superintendents AnnualFinancial Report, prepared and submitted by the district business offices to Department of Ed. That is an INCREASE of only 44,345 more children, NOT 140,000 during the years the YES people chose, and that is only a 4.9% increase.

Now to look at tax load: According to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee report on Expenditures to the Districts Maintenance and Operations Budgets, in FY2004 the state General Fund appropriated $3,349,554,200 to the districts while in FY2009, the state General Fund appropriated $5,079,427,900 to the districts. That is a 51.64% increase.

Let me repeat that, because it is a startling set of figures - - the average daily membership increased by a mere 4.9% since 2004 - the time span they chose - while appropriations increased by a whopping 51.64%.

Teachers say that they have not had pay increases for seven years, or they have had pay cuts the last three years. If that is true, they need to be asking their administration where the dollars went. The funds were appropriated from the state General Fund and if they did not receive those funds there is only one stop from the legislature to them - the district offices.

There are also comments about how many teachers have lost their position. Some teachers have been let go, but lets look at why that is happening.

In 2008, the number of district pupils was 950,815, however, as stated above, the current number has decreased to 931,844 - a loss of 18,971. If you figure the average class size is 30, that is a loss of 632 classrooms and subsequently a lack of need for 632 teachers. Teacher reductions are NOT because of low appropriations, but a lack of pupils. That pupil count, by the way, is continuing to decline every month and will for the foreseeable future.

Any government agency that has a 4.9% growth in caseload and has received a 51.64% increase in funding has too much taxpayer money, not too little. These figures are readily available and published on the JLBC and ADE websites, so you can use them with comfort to inform your friends and neighbors about the real education story.

Vote NO on Prop 100!!

It is a scam, it is unnecessary, it will harm seniors on fixed incomes and it will further damage our economy by costing the Arizona job market 24,000 to 40,000 jobs.

The new face of Educators

We have a crisis around the world that has caused the deepest downturn since the 1930's. Arizona Tax receipts are DOWN more than 40%. The k-12 piece of the state tax revenue pie has grown from 43% to nearly 90% in the last decade - - - AND THEY WANT MORE.

Student SAT scores are DOWN, teacher pay UP, % of revenues to the classroom is DOWN, the number of Administrators is UP.

WHY ARE WE IN THIS SPOT? GREED, plain and simple.

We have found the enemy

and it's Barry Hess and the Hessians

We went to a Tea Party last night and were energized once again by the patriotic fervor of ten thousand patriots that was facilitated by Tom Jenney and AFP, Thayer Verschoor and Ax-the-Tax, and NO on 100. It was so hot and yet so cool to see new passionate activists that have decided to join the fight against a socialist takeover of our country and state.

It was all wonderful, that is, until we ventured into the nether world created by Barry and the Bumpkins. Never forget, this is the self-centered hippopotamus that gave us Janet Napolitano. Now this narcissistic waster of good oxygen wants to take the opportunity to give us Terry Goddard. If he truly cared about Arizona and the return to a Constitutional government, he would take a lesson from history but the only way he can get any visibility is to serve his Kool-Aid to the uninformed.

That is bad enough, but this crazy, psycho-babble spouting, cracked head has decided that the one person to be singled out for attack by his rabid band of wolves should be Russell Pearce. That's right Russell Pearce. Not Kyrsten Sinema, Not Daniel Patterson, Not Paula Aboud or even Not Rich Crandall, Russ Jones or Bill Konopnicki - but Russell Pearce. Last week, he even went out and recruited a Hessian lackey to run against Russell Pearce.

We couldn't even leave the event without enduring a loud-mouth confrontational Hessian attacking Sen. Pearce. Russell Pearce has faults like everyone else, but the objects of such personal attacks should be those who are working every day to kill our system of government. We firmly believe that Hess would have found fault with George Washington, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson and he would have led a motor-mouthed attack on their lack of purity according to the Book of Barry.

Go away, Barry, and take the toadies who cannot recognize who is on our side and who is destroying America and Arizona with you. Whatever service you might have been able to provide is lost in your egomanic duplicity. Serve your Kool-Aid at Progressive, Democrat functions. If you are going to kill people, let it be the enemy.

Governor Jan Brewer names CEO of a failed bank as the next AZ financial institutions chief

Gov. Jan Brewer yesterday named former Valley Capital Bank CEO Lauren Kingry as the next Superintendent of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions.

Mr. Kingry was the CEO of the failed bank that went into receivership with federal officials in December. Now, he will be Arizona's next top banking regulator. How does making decisions that led to a bank failure qualify a person to be the top banking regulator?

Just a thought, wouldn't it be better to have someone with a successful track record to represent the state during these perilous times?

More Senate Shenanigans

Under the "leadership" of Bobby Burns, the House passed 'Jobs Bill' is being emasculated in the Senate.

Using static finance projections as a cover, the 'Jobs Bill' will produce no new jobs at a time when the Arizona economy desperately needs it.

The strike-everything amendment would remove a 5 percent individual income tax cut in H2250 as passed by the House.

The state equalization tax that was to be eliminated last year in the budget package that two conservative legislators sunk, will now BEGIN going away in 2014 - maybe.

A two-percentage-point cut to corporate income tax rates beginning in 2011, lowering the corporate income tax rate to 5 percent from about 7 percent by 2014. is now stretched to five years, with smaller reductions during the first two years than during the final three.

Adams needs to oppose this farce. The House actually passed a Jobs Bill, but the only thing remotely resembling a Jobs Bill in this senate mutation will be the name.

We refer you back to an excellent article in the WSJ that should be the blueprint for state lawmakers. "We almost made it that time" will be the mournful song of Arizona taxpayers for decades to come.

The Socialist Media gets the news

CBS News released polling about the health care law.

It found that 32% were for it, while 53% opposed it.

Only 27% of Independents approve of the bill;

Only 17% of Americans believe the bill will help them personally.

Majorities of Americans believe that the law will increase their premiums;

3/4 believe their health care quality will get worse or stay the same;

2/3 believe the bill will increase the budget deficit.

Gibbs can't say this a right wing conspiracy, Mr. President!

Rasmussen's “which party do you trust” polling shows pretty consistent movement toward the GOP, with the GOP opening up large leads on just about every issue. The biggest net shifts of 13% and 11% came on health care and abortion, respectively. The results from the Rasmussen poll:

The AEA does it again!

The Arizona Education Association fought against the Arizona application to the federal government for a special grant from the "Race to the Top" program. In fact, the AEA refused to sign on in support of the plan. That is not necessarily surprising, considering the continual self-centered greedy AEA position is "We know everything and everyone else is stupid."

Well, an important point is that the support of the teachers union is one of the high point-value areas in the application. So the AEA refused to participate in the application, refused to sign off on the particulars of the application, and is now making hysterical press releases about the fact that Arizona did not win a grant. They go on to blame Republicans for the fact that we did not get a grant. SOP!

Toward the end of a question-and-answer session with workers at an advanced battery technology manufacturer, a woman named Doris stood to ask the president whether it was a "wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care" package.

"We are over-taxed as it is," Doris said bluntly.

Obama started out feisty. "Well, let's talk about that, because this is an area where there's been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I'm going to have to work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions that people have," the president said.

He then spent the next 17 minutes and 12 seconds lulling the crowd into a daze. His discursive answer - more than 2,500 words long -- wandered from topic to topic.

We'll bet Doris has been beaten about the head and shoulders by her co-workers and will never ask a question again.

Obama breaks the mold again!

Hard as it may seem to believe, Obama and his policies have once again defied established truths. In this month's employment picture update, the Department of Labor has a little gem underscoring his prescience.

The demographic group consisting of high school dropouts had the best job growth in America. College graduates, on the other hand, had the worst job growth in America. In fact, the high school dropouts rate of job growth was thirty-five times higher than that for college graduates.

I guess that the uneducated, ill-informed Obama voters are being rewarded for their blind (and dumb) support that carried him to the Presidency. BHO's recognition of stupidity is a first.

JD wins 1st Qtr. $$$ Race

This is hard for many people to believe - especially the McCainiacs and AZ Republic writers (oops, they're the same group) - but JD is beating John McCain in fundraising. McCain raised 2.2 million in three months while JD raised more than 1 million in about five weeks.

The surprising bottom line? Arizona individuals and other concerned American conservatives are contributing 50% more money on a daily basis to JD than all of the contributors to McCain - even when you count the banks, brokerage houses and insurance companies that benefitted from the TARP money supported by McCain.

In fact, most of McCain's money has come from fat cat executives in national corporations that are on the government dole who overwhelmingly support big government, open borders and amnesty.

Newspeak continues

The headline reads,

"New Jobless Claims Fall"

The Obama 'Good News' continues for 11 paragraphs.

"Initial claims fell slightly",

"The four-week average fell",

"The economy created the most new jobs in three years",

"People claiming UI benefits dropped 4.66 million last week."

The real facts are in paragraphs 12 - 14.

Most of the jobs 'created by the economy' are federal government workers, especially temporary Census workers.

Private employers cut 23,000 jobs in March, well below forecasts of a 40,000 gain.

Millions of people are receiving extended benefits for up to 73 extra weeks, paid for by the federal government [THE TAXPAYERS], on top of the 26 customarily provided by the states.

More than 6 million people are on the extended benefit rolls.

That is about 270,000 higher than the previous week. All told, 11.4 million people are claiming unemployment benefits, the department said.

What do schools really need?

For most educrats, the answer is simple: money, money and more money. Over the last eight years, their demands have been met. The amount of revenue to the k-12 system has more than doubled over that span, while student population has increased at less than one-seventh that number.

What we need is professional fiscal restraint from conservative school boards. Unfortunately, there are very few conservative school boards because most conservatives do not want to run for an unpaid, local political office that provides little public recognition and many headaches. Conservatives have abandoned the schools to the liberals, who see it as a bastion for creating more liberals and running the type of government control of citizens they want. As a result, most of the volunteers in our schools that could/would run for the school boards don't have the fiscal or social responsibility to recognize the limits of government spending that must be in place for education.

We all wonder why so many different local taxes for school districts. Bonds, budget overrides, K-3 overrides, adjacent ways taxes, capital overrides, CTE taxes, career ladder taxes, desegregation taxes, and, until recently, excess utility taxes. Add on fees for band, art, music, drama, debate, science labs, and sports, plus a student activity "fee" for every kid, and before long, it is a lot of additional money out of the pockets for taxpayers beyond the State of Arizona taxes for education.

It is time to tighten our belts in education. We can no longer afford $200,000 a year for a superintendent. We cannot afford four or five associate superintendents. We certainly should not be spending an additional $20,000 a year for "supplemental" retirement for the highest paid employees in the school district (they already get funding for a liberal state retirement program). Why are we spending a $1,000 or more per month as a car allowance for selected school district employees? We would be better off just paying mileage rates for use of their cars for company business like everyone in the private sector does.

If you are thinking you may want to run for political office, consider the one office that daily directly affects more people than any other elected office - the governing board of your local school district. Get down to your local school and/or school district and get involved. Volunteer your services and prepare yourself to bring fiscal and social responsibility to our schools.

Stop the mad dash to spend more and more and create an academic atmosphere that encourages student achievement for all of our children.

For Crist's Sake

The events in Arizona this week point out the destructive and deadly results of the policies supported by Florida Governor Charlie Crist. Good Ol' Boy Charlie is a supporter of Comprehensive Immigration Reform, John McCain, and Barack Hussein Obama.

He appeared on Fox News Sunday that is hosted by Chris Wallace for the purposes of 'debating' with Marco Rubio. The 'debate' came down to Good Ol' Boy Charlie complaining that Rubio is not a conservative because of how much he pays for his haircut and them tries to prove his point by harping on some vote on some city board in another decade.

This was bad enough, but the Good Ol' Boy McObama supporter went from the ridiculous to the sublime by drawing some weird conclusion that the illegal immigrants in our country are somehow the same as his own grandparents who entered America legally through Ellis Island.

For Crist's sake, Charlie. That is somewhat akin to comparing a Circle K armed robber as being the same as the shoppers at Costco or Macy's. Your political philosophy is so far left that Johnny Mac does not have you on his list of out-of-state stars. Of course, that lack of loyalty speaks more about Johnny Mac than you. He expects loyalty from others, but gives none in return.

Charlie, more than a third of the felons in our state come from the "freedom loving undocumented workers who only came here to provide a good living for their families." HOGWASH! Law breakers continue to be law breakers and breed law breakers. Friendly, loving and patriotic citizens like Robert Krentz should be able to expect protection from this invasion.

PS: Do not expect Johnny to come to Tallahassee - for Crist's sake.

"FAST EDDIE" WANTS TO PLAY - AGAIN

According the an article in The Capitol Times, "Fast Eddie" Farnsworth misses playing around down at the Capitol. That is his right, of course.

Growing Our Party hopes that if he is elected, he will bring a new, more mature attitude to the Capitol that recognizes the fact that he did not build the playing field and he is not the player, umpire and scorekeeper.

Pragmatic Constitutional conservatives will be desperately needed in the next legislature. With the number of representatives leaving for one reason or another, Arizona will need legislators who have the business expertise as well as the knowledge of how the "system" works at 1700 W Washington.

We need conservatives who can build a consensus of 31 to improve life for Arizonans, not just lead the Parking Lot Caucus. "Fast Eddie" could make an enormous positive impact on what happens at the Capitol, but if he returns as Chief Obstructionist, he will do more harm than good.

We hope that the last two years have helped him gain a new perspective and, if so, we welcome him.

Idaho Health Freedom Act
Comes to Arizona

On February 9, the Idaho House passed H0391, The Idaho Health Freedom Act, on a 52-18 vote. On March 11, the Idaho Senate passed this landmark legislation by a 24-10 vote and sent the bill to the Governor. On St. Patrick's Day, Idaho Governor Butch Otter signed the bill thus making Idaho the first state to make this protection of individual freedom state law. While Idaho became the first to pass the legislation into law, there are 37 other states that have similar legislation in the pipeline.

NEWS FLASH TO THE PROs (Pelosi, Reed & Obama): That is enough states to call a Constitutional Convention.

Today, Representative Judy Burges (R-LD4) announced that the provisions in the Idaho Health Freedom Act will become a keystone piece of legislation here in Arizona next week. "The threat to Arizonans with the attempt to nationalize health care by the Obama Administration cannot be stressed too strongly," stated Rep. Burges. "I will be sponsoring a strike-everything amendment to my HB2001 'I Didn't Pay Enough' bill that has already passed the House. I have been assured by leadership that the amended bill will be placed on the next Wednesday's Agenda the Senate Finance Committee, chaired by Sen. Jack Harper."

We think it is somehow appropriate that the bill is being struck on HB2001 - the first bill number for this session.

Today's news that 31 of our 53 Republican state legislators have endorsed John McCain is very disturbing to all conservative Arizona Republicans. Most of the names on the list do not raise eyebrows as this endorsement is consistent with their voting records.

However, the list includes many who portray themselves as conservatives. Some on the list rank at the top of the PAChyderm ratings and their endorsement of the senior senator is especially disappointing. Following are the names as listed on the McCain website:

Cato Institute - REAL K-12 Spending

We want to thank one of our anonymous commenters for pointing us to this important study just released last week.

The following conclusions come the report by Adam B. Schaeffer who is a policy analyst with Cato's Center for Educational Freedom.

In Phoenix, the average real per-pupil spending figure of $11,800 is 27 percent higher than the average $9,300 the Phoenix districts claim to spend. In addition, real public school spending is more than 75 percent higher than the estimated median private school spending of just $6,770.

Paradise Valley ($12,231) and Cave Creek ($13,929) real spending per pupil are 82% and 106% higher than the average real spending for private schools in our area. There are real unethical - if not illegal - discrepancies from the annual report figures provided to the Department of Education and their own internal reports.

This blatant under-reporting by the school districts to the Department of Education should be looked at by the Auditor General, the legislature and, possibly, the County Attorney. In the meantime, it is important that you refer your friends, neighbors, family and co-workers to this report.

Lets look at PVUSD, for example.

"Missed me yet" - Part Two

You've seen the billboard of George Bush smiling asking the question "Missed Me Yet?". Well, here is one that brings back pleasant memories of days long ago when there was no NCLB, no KidsCare and no FOURTEEN TRILLION dollar debt.

BHO has just released his plan to change 'No Child Left Behind', the federal government's unconstitutional intervention in the education of our children. BHO would eliminate the NCLB requirement that every child reach proficiency in reading and math as "too Utopian".

BHO's replacement: that every child should graduate from high school ready for college and a career. That is not only Utopian, it is certifiably crazy.

Education Secretary puts it this way. "For the mass of schools we want to get rid of prescriptive interventions. We'll leave it up to them to figure out how to make progress."

Leaving it up to the administrators in district schools - whose only intent is in finding new ways to confiscate money from the parents of our students - to determine the definition of progress is absurd. To now say that we are not even going to try to hold them accountable for teaching basic skills but only require them to graduate the students will create a steroid effect on social advancement from one grade to the next. Remember, these are the people who have been given a 100% increase in funding over the last six years in order to turn out a worse product.

Maybe this is BHO's response to Joe the Plumber and all the other tradesmen who use their common sense to oppose his policies - Kill the skilled professionals who make our society run. I don't know about you, but when my sewer line is blocked, I am not looking for a Doctorate in Juris Prudence to clear the line with a legal brief.

What is a Republican?

A Republican is a citizen legally entitled to vote who checks a box on a registration form that is designated "Republican". That is all it takes to become a Republican.

The bigger question is what is the Republican Party and what does it stand for. That question is answered every four years at the National Convention when the delegates enact the Party Platform. These delegates are elected in a bottom-up process. Republicans in every voting precinct elect delegates to the county convention. Each county convention elects delegates to the state convention where the delegates to the national convention are selected. The national delegates write and approve the Party Platform that sets the standards for the Party principles.

Just as within your church or within your neighborhood or community service organization, there are those who do not abide by the agreed creed, manual or rules. The Republican Party has many who have agreed to join the organization for selfish reasons - mostly to get the benefits of being in the majority party. Their actions many times run counter to the interests of the Party as a whole and their actions are used by outsiders to ridicule the party as being hypocritical.

In fact, a majority of the Republican Party has maintained the Reagan Constitutional, conservative, free enterprise, American sovereignty, states rights, smaller government tenets clearly detailed within the current Repubican Party Platform.

Controversy becomes the rule when people who have identified themselved as Republicans rise in the political system to be "leaders" within the Party and then govern in complete violation of the very principles they said they believed in when checking the box "Republican." Growing Our Party is ashamed to admit that the last three large tax increases have been foisted on Arizonans by Republican governors - Hull and Brewer. Their actions are Democratic.

Let us be clear, the controversy within the Republican Party does not come from upholding the party principles, it comes from those who want to violate those principles with impunity. Their continued efforts to destroy those who support the Platform are the same blame-game tactics used in every other area of society by those who don't want to follow the rules.

When Republican presidents, governors, congressmen and legislators push for Kids Care, All Day Kindergarten, Amnesty, No Child Left Behind, Sales Tax Increases, Budget Overrides, Career Ladders, and Science Foundation programs and fight against unbridled First Amendment and Second Amendment protections, parental choice in education, smaller government and lower taxes, they place themselves in a special category. That category is Repubican In Name Only (RINO).

Their complaints that they are being treated badly by Republicans who believe in and uphold the Party Platform principles are unjustified and speaks to their lack of character. If they do not want to be referred to as RINOs they should come into compliance with the principles in the Platform and they will no longer carry the stigma of being a RINO. Until then . . .

You're judged by your friends

This simple truth has been passed down by parents to their children since the beginning of time. Now, however, Shawna Bolick wants everyone to believe that applies to everyone in the world - except her. That is not only ridiculous, it is so crazy as to question her qualifications to serve in any elected office.

Mrs. Bolick's fundraiser contains the names of power brokers that have made millions using illegal workers in their companies. Her list contains the names of illegal immigration sympathizers who supported Tony Bouie two years ago. Also listed are those who believe in open borders and fought Prop. 200, the Sanctuary City bill and contributed funds used for personal attacks on both Sen. Russell Pearce and Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

These people do not host fundraisers and make large contributions to candidates who fight to protect American lives and American jobs with strong anti-illegal immigration legislation. We think that Mrs. Bolick protests too much in another blog.

Shawna, if you don't like the perception, change your friends.

Finally, a conservative John

Everyone knows that Arizonans have had too many Washington Rent-a-Jo(h)ns in recent history. This year we have the chance to send two of them back to the shop for cleaning and permanent retirement. That would be a definite plus for our environment.

However, we have a new John in the House that works with the water from a conservative spring. John Kavanagh is the Appropriations Chair in the Arizona House of Representatives who is standing in the way of a bill that would be a tax increase for every household that can still afford a motor vehicle.

Rep. Russ Jones, one of the most liberal members that Reagan Republicans have to contend with on nearly every issue, has introduced a bill that would place a $12.00 new tax annually on every privately owned vehicle in the state. That new tax would be split - with $9.00 going directly to the State Parks Department and $3.00 going to the Department of Transportation to administer the program. Rep. Jones states he has the votes to ram this tax increase over the top of conservative republicans if he can get it to the floor.

Rep. Kavanagh, the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, has places a huge roadblock to Jones' plan to increase taxes by another $25,000,000.00 every year. The Reagan conservative John has refused to hear the bill in his committee and has refused to have the bill released from his control. This bad bill is espcially offensive as it would disproportionately impact our seniors on fixed incomes and our neighbors who have just lost their jobs in this recession caused by government excesses.

If you don't learn from history

You are doomed to repeat it.

Today we received new projections from the Congressional Budget Office that the White House estimates of an $8.6 TRILLION increase in debt in the next ten years is wrong. They go on to say that the Harry Reid "good news" of people losing their jobs is just the beginning. Their 'bottom line' is that the out of control progressive policies will increase spending to the point that we will actually accumulate at least $9.8 TRILLION in new debt over that time period.

Other than the mere mountain of federal government debt, why is that significant? Economists are now in agreement that this will be the result: deficits of that size will be unsustainable, that they will create an upward spiral in interest rates, crowd out private investment in the economy, and erode the nation's standard of living.

It is interesting to note that the recession of 1920 started out much worse than the recession of 1930. The 1920 recession was short lived because government cut spending and cut tax rates while the 1930 recession evolved into The Great Depression because a progressive government increased spending and increased taxes.

At this time, the Obama Administration is following the failed policies that brought us The Great Depression. We must rise up against the policies being promulgated in Washington or we and our children will surely experience The Great Depression II.

Why teachers support Overrides

"for the children", or for themselves?

In this day and age, when families are facing tremendous financial crises, some school districts want to increase spending at a rate that is 50% more than ever in history. How does that answer the question above?

On average, 89% of all k-12 M and O budgets go directly into salaries. For example, Deer Valley Unified is one of a very few districts that is proposing a 15% Override. That will result in an additional tax grab of $24 million dollars, and $21 million of that money will go directly into the pockets of the teachers, et al. Teachers already make more than 50% each year above that of the average worker in Arizona, yet they pressure you to mortgage your home with an additional tax lien that will last for the next seven years.

Since 2001, Deer Valley has used this override scam to collect an additional $1 BILLION OVER AND ABOVE the funding from regular state general fund and local property taxes. It is important to remember that the latter appropriated funds have themselves seen increases that doubled the cost to YOU since 2003.

Deer Valley's situation is even more incongruous. The people leading the campaign for this tax grab include: a teacher that is 'double dipping' by taking retirement checks from the taxpayer supported retirement system AND continuing her career at full pay in the same position she had when she 'retired' at taxpayer expense; a former education administrator who lives in Sun City and pays NO education taxes; and the current Superintendent who will not face increased taxes on her home because she lives in the Cave Creek school district where every override attempt has failed miserably. In addition, she is another 'double dipper' who takes over $300,000 annually from the system.

The Arizona Education Association - the teacher union - decries the 'destruction' of district schools when, in fact, they have more money than ever - even when inflation adjusted on a per pupil basis. Teachers and administrators need to spend as much time advocating reforms that will improve the learning outcomes for the students as they do padding their pockets. That would be the best news possible for parents and employers alike.

In the meantime, never forget that teachers pushing for taxpayer funds are doing what the scam artists do at freeway on-ramps. They are playing on your emotions and manipulating your compassionate concern for others, except teachers want to confiscate the money from everyone, not just charity from the willing. Worse, they are balckmailing you using the welfare of your children to bilk you out of the money you need to keep your family financially secure.

People are losing their homes to the tax man and thousands of other Arizona state workers are being laid off just so the educational elites can make more money. They should be ashamed - but they have lost that endearing attribute many decades ago.

We call on you to vote NO on your early ballots and at the polls on March 9.

But in the heart of Harry Reid there is a new refrain, he chirps that these are good times, as if each life should have some rain;

The Stimulus is working . . Well,

The 9.7% unemployment rate is really +20% when you include the following important data:

Number of people unemployed more than six months - 6.1 million - they don't count as unemployed

Number of people working part-time who are seeking full-time - 6.2 million - they don't count as unemployed

As we all know the economy last year was horrible. Obama instituted the stimulus package to improve the employment picture. How's it working?

Overall, non-farm payrolls declined in February for the 25th time in 26 months. How about specific key industries?

Let's compare Feb '10 to Feb '09
Construction ---- down 15%
Mining ---- down 10%
Durable Goods Mfg. ---- down 10%
Non-durable Goods Mfg. ---- down 5%
Financial ---- down 4%
Retail Sales ---- down 3%
EDUCATION ---- UP 2%
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ---- UP 6%

What's wrong with this picture? The only areas of growth occurred where the money was taken from the taxpayer without approval. The Education industry - it truly has evolved into an industry from what was a service - cries it is being destroyed when it is the only large sector outside of the federal government that continues to grow.

In Arizona, funding for the education industry continues to grow at an alarming rate. State funding for this sector - k-12, colleges and universities - now exceeds the total state tax revenues. That sounds impossible, but true.

We are paying for all the rest of state government by borrowing, fund sweeps and accounting gimmicks. The school unions continue to cry for more money for an industry that has seen unprecedented increases in funding this last decade. Meanwhile, the state is incurring debt that the children of the children currently in their charge will have to pay off.

It's Time to say NO in May to more taxes, NO next week to more overrides and NO anytime to more debt.

And so it begins - - Again

Today the Arizona Republic ran an article with the apologists for the public schools once again telling everyone that all the problems in the system are the fault of the legislature. The direct collusion between the media and the education community has become so commonplace that it is no longer a matter that even raises eyebrows.

Growing Our Party will not allow this misinformation and intentional series of lies and distortions to go unanswered. The Republic runs a state and local section front page story every Sunday disseminating the propaganda of the progressives who support the corruption and Ponzi schemes in the school districts. Growing Our Party will be doing a series of stories on public school finances that will expose the AEA scheme.

Growing Our Party asks you to comment on stories printed in the media that are misleading pieces of propaganda. We need to vote NO on the overrides as a first step to returning fiscal sanity to our schools and bringing us closer to actually owning our homes without the onerous threat of the tax man.

The bottom line is that we are over taxed and yet the establishment has found a way to overspend the billions of additional dollars that have been confiscated from "We the People".

Thank you for looking at our new site. Our intention is to disseminate the conservative message that is founded on the Constitution of the United States in a manner that is consistent with the Party Platform that has been similar in form and function beginning with the 1980 Republican National Convention. If the Republican Party Platform changes over time due to the influence of others who do not share the philosophy of President Reagan, we will respectfully and steadfastly hold to the Reagan legacy.

In addition, we encourage discourse, including strong contentious debate, however, we will not allow personal vilification that would include potentially libelous comments. Moderation will occur only when these boundaries are violated. We look forward to the new courthouse square discourse that our Founding Fathers fought and died for.
